RIDE THE BUS AND SHOP WITH EASE

Hoover has been riding the bus for years and enjoys the freedom and dependability. Whether you’re doing some shopping, running errands or meeting up with friends, we can take you to all the major shopping outlets in Eugene and Springfield. Why fight traffic and then look for a parking space if you don’t have to? Sit back and let us do the driving. Go where you want to go. Watch the video!

Favorite shopping spots

Our Emerald Express (EmX) picks up passengers as often as every 10-15 minutes and will take you to many of our major local shopping centers, from the 5th Street Public Market and the Saturday Market in downtown Eugene to The Shoppes at Gateway in Springfield. It also provides service to local retailers and national big box stores adjacent to 6th, 7th and 11th Avenues in Eugene, and Pioneer Parkway and Gateway Street in Springfield. Easy connecting bus routes can take you to Oakway Center for lunch beneath the oaks in the Heritage Courtyard or Valley River Center for dinner and a walk along the Willamette River. You could also visit the unique shops and enjoy the art and history of downtown Springfield.

Shop smart

Taking LTD to shopping is great for grabbing small items that you can easily take on the bus. Pick up new shoes or a shirt or bring home some fresh ingredients to make dinner. Of course, make sure all your purchases can easily fit on your lap, and are cleanly and securely packaged.

For major restocking trips, you might consider taking the bus to get to the store, then plan for a taxi or another ride-hailing service to haul all your items home. At $1.75 for a single trip, bus fare is far less expensive than a taxi or ride-hailing service, even one way. Try it once and you might decide to buy a monthly pass and save more often.

LCC and UO college students attending in-person classes can board an LTD bus at no charge by redeeming a benefit code on the Umo Mobility app (pronounced You-mo). For more information, visit the UO website or LCC website.

See the ocean, mountains, or big city

Should you want to venture to the mountains or the coast for unique treasures or spend a day in another city, we can help you do that, too. From Eugene, there are connecting services that can take you beyond the local metro area. Take a trip and enjoy some of Oregon’s favorite getaway spots.

Visit Historic Old Town Florence for lunch and shop hopping along the Siuslaw River, or head up the coast for some snacks and beach walking in Yachats. Get an early start for a day in Portland or head over the Cascades to visit Bend.
